Full Metal Panic!
Throughout 24 episodes, Full Metal Panic explores four major storylines, punctuated by some lighter episodes in between major events. Based on Gonzo Digimation’s first three light novels, it was released in 2002. Gauron sabotages the plane in which Kaname was on a school trip, causing Sousuke and Kaname to confront each other.
As part of the second arc, Tessa and Kalinin are investigating a terrorist organization that plans to unleash an AS behemoth on the world. During the third arc, Sousuke is on a mission to Helmajistan, but not to Kaname. This is a dramatic storyline that involves both nuclear weapons and Gauron. As part of Gauron’s latest strategy to take over the Tuatha de Danaan, Kaname and Sousuke become intimately involved in the fourth arc.
Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu
The 12-episode series was released in 2003 and is considered one of the craziest animated comedies of the 2000s. It covers many of FMP’s short stories, so it does not cover any major plot points. The anime series is produced by Kyoto Animation, which made the company one of the world’s leading animation companies. It is highly recommended for those who are complete fans of the anime series.
Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid
As a result of the success of Fumoffu’s campaign, Kyoto Animation animated this 13-episode series, which was released in 2005. This anime series is based on the fourth and fifth light novels, making it one of the most significant and dangerous anime series ever produced.
Throughout the series, Mithril’s battles with Amalgam are discussed in greater detail, and Sousuke struggles to find the right balance between his responsibilities and his relationship with Kaname. In this section, Leonard Testarossa is introduced as well as Mithril’s upper command structure.
Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid OVA
The OVA episode was released in 2006 as a sequel to TSR, but its style is more in line with Fumoffu’s foolishness. In it, Tessa finds out why she ended up half-naked on the bridge of the Tuatha de Danaan, as well as how her crew members behave psychologically. Franchise fans should not miss this funny little story.
Full Metal Panic! Invisible Victory
Kyoto Animation didn’t make the fourth anime adaptation this time. Instead, Xebec was tapped to create it. This series premiered in April 2018. In the course of Anime Expo 2017, the creator of Full Metal Panic Invisible Victory noted that it would be a “continuation” with no “explanation or explanation episodes.” There were 12 episodes in the series. The opening and closing songs, “Even…if” and “Yes,” were performed by Tamarou and Yamada.
